Dear Friends, The 18th Annual conference of the Society for Emergency Medicine India, EMCON 2016, will be a rich and diverse educational forum with multiple sessions and speakers, special events, and activities that will enhance academic and clinical skills. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we look forward to welcoming you to the largest Emergency Medicine meeting in Asia! The theme for this year is Discover the Difference - Collaborating, Connecting & Creating Better Emergency Care Systems. The Organizing Committee is happy to inform you that most of the National & International Faculty have confirmed their participation for the Conference who will provide lively debate, stimulating questions, and will help advance the development of Emergency Medicine throughout the region. This conference will endeavor to unite all those who have worked to establish disaster resources and some of the stakeholders who are involved in creating a universal care system that can provide acute care for all in need when they need it most. Please join us and help contribute to this important area of research. EMCON 2016 is being held at Raja Muthaiah Hall, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, from November 10th through the 13th, 2016, and is being locally organized by SEMI s Tamil Nadu chapter. Madurai, also called the Athens of the East, is a famous temple city in South India, and is located on the banks of River Vaigai. Madurai has been a major settlement for two millennia and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Madurai International Airport is conveniently located and provides connectivity to several cities throughout India as well as to Sri Lanka and Dubai, UAE. A wide range of hotels have also been secured for the meeting and will provide many different options for attendees of all budgets and tastes. We look forward to welcoming you to Madurai in November and to making EMCON 2016 the best Emergency Medicine meeting in the region.
